Victoria Beckham Playfully Ribs Husband David Over His Gardening Look: “You Know You’re Married to a Fashion Icon”

The couple’s playful backyard banter proves that even after 25 years of marriage — and major fashion success — laughter (and style critiques) are still at the heart of their relationship.

The Beckhams share a hilarious moment over gardening fashion as David celebrates his new Hugo Boss campaign and Victoria continues to reign as a style icon.

Victoria and David Beckham have proven once again that after 25 years of marriage, their playful banter remains as stylish as ever.

In a lighthearted video shared to David’s Instagram on Friday, April 25, the fashion designer, 51, captured a sweet and funny moment as she filmed her husband, 49, tending to their backyard garden. Dressed casually in a grey t-shirt, khaki shorts, nude-colored socks, white sneakers, and an orange beanie, the Inter Miami CF president knelt to pick white radishes, joking, “I think the radishes might be ready.”

Victoria couldn’t help but tease her husband about his gardening attire. “You look nice,” she said with a laugh, prompting David to reply, “I look nice? No, I look a state.” Without missing a beat, Victoria quipped, “You know you’re married to a fashion icon, right?” to which David charmingly responded, “Am I? You look like one,” before Victoria playfully complimented his socks.

The couple’s endearing exchange continued with David promoting the calming effects of gardening, to which Victoria jokingly replied, “What, to dress badly?” The camera zoomed out to reveal a glimpse of their lush garden, the video aptly captioned by David: “Radish Alert 🤍 My wife’s hilarious 🤨 she just ate 5 of my radishes, once washed of course 🤍.”

While David might downplay his backyard fashion, he’s certainly turned heads with his latest professional endeavors. Recently, he launched his debut menswear collaboration with Hugo Boss, marking a stylish new chapter in his career. Speaking with GQ, Beckham reflected on the dedication it took to prepare for the campaign — a journey that involved a rigorous 14-week transformation.

“I did a 14-week [diet of] no carbs, no bread, no butter, no pasta, no pizzas, no alcohol, and just trained like crazy,” he revealed. “Because I knew what Boss were putting into this, and I knew I would be working with [the photographers] again, so it was a real team effort to get back into real good shape and to do the best campaign.”

The hard work paid off. However, Beckham’s new campaign also delivered some humorous moments at home. During a conversation with Deadline, the former footballer recounted an “embarrassing” encounter with his mother-in-law, who admitted that she and her friends were “zooming in” on his Hugo Boss photos. Laughing, Beckham recalled her saying she “could see everything,” to which he replied, “Well, don’t zoom in then.”

Beyond the humor, David also opened up about his evolving personal style. Once known for pushing fashion boundaries, he now embraces a more classic and understated aesthetic.

“I think gone are the days where I’d be too daring. I think I’ll leave that to my kids,” Beckham shared. “My sons are quite daring in what they wear, but my aesthetic is really kind of classic now. It’s very understated.”

Victoria, of course, remains a major force in the fashion world. As the founder of her own successful fashion and beauty brand, she continues to set trends globally. Yet, it’s clear that behind the glamorous campaigns and elegant tailoring, the Beckhams’ real magic lies in their ability to laugh together — even if it’s over a pair of gardening socks.
